The Back Side of this Weekend
and it's been a good one.
Yesterday was "West Side Story" at our local community theatre, followed by dinner at Chili's and some TV at a dear friend's house. Following the TV and wine consumption, an early night.
Today I went to brunch with friends at a new place in midtown--we had scrambled eggs with Gouda cheese and spinach, candied bacon (to die for), potato casserole, biscuits with choices of butter, strawberry butter, maple butter, chocolate sauce or honeycomb, lemoncello, mimosas, bloody Marys, etc., etc. No alcohol for me today--last night's wine and this heat almost did me in.
Home then, where I watched "Robin Hood" on BBCAmerica, part of the Olympic swimming trials and Password, then made oatmeal cookies.
A nice day, and it's going to be a good week.
Sometimes all you need is a friend--and rest.
