Happy May Day, everybody!
The lusty month of May is upon us.

Miscellany--
I'm so glad it's Friday tomorrow.
I can actually stay home tomorrow night and have a night of peace and quiet--2 Fridays in a row.
Saturday, I'm off to a workshop at church in the morning ("Praying in Color", which is basically about doodling your prayers, and free expression), then off to a movie night that evening--we do theme nights, and the movie is "Big Fish", so we're having fried chicken, mashed potatoes, biscuits, slaw, and a birthday cake--sort of a "small town" theme. I'm some of the chicken and drinks, in self defense, since the Coke machine where we're meeting died.
The last thing really makes me so sad--a woman here in Memphis found a pit bull puppy, hurt and abandoned at a local baseball field. She named him Bruiser, took him to a vet, people donated money, vets donated time and supplies, and he was initially doing better--actually eating high protein dog food and warming up his core body temperature, but during a surgery, he died. His wounds and infections were just too much. I saw a photo of him on a website, with a soft pale green teddy bear snuggled up to him.
I'm so sad that Bruiser suffered so much at the hands of some horrible less-than-human person, but I'm also so thankful for all the good people who stepped up to help this little dog know love and care. Bruiser, I know you're in a better place now, safe and whole.
