A Family Find

My father's family home, a cotton plantation on the banks of Lake Chicot in Arkansas, is being renovated by Arkansas State University as the centerpiece of a living history museum. How wonderful! I had the opportunity a few years ago, to arrange for a plaque to be placed on the grave of my grandmother's 6th child (out of 8) who was stillborn. My grandmother told me about her birth one night and I know she would have liked to have marked the grave herself if she could have afforded to do so.

Leaving the little one where his parents placed him was a good choice. Are they going to now mark his resting place?

Yes--the restoration team is rebuilding the crypt and placing the remains in another coffin due to damage the original one sustained, and I understand that there will be a marker there for him, which is a wonderful, fitting ending.
