Last night I finally got my grubby little hands on Rock Band 2 for the Wii. The previous version saddened me when it turned out to be a pale shadow of the game I fell in love with on a friend's 360.
I'd seen that this version would be the "real game", so I was hopeful but still somewhat worried.
So far, it's good to go - customizable rockers, world tour, even "battle of the bands" online play are all there.
After rocking out for a few hours and generally having fun, I can say that it's everything I expected - or will be once they get the downloadable songs working sometime after the holidays.
I've set up rockers that are close matches for me, my wife, and a couple of friends. The temptation to dress my rocker in clothes that I actually own is tempered somewhat by a complete lack of any clothes cool enough to be available in the game aside from the plain white tee and jeans. I'll have to also create the complete freakazoid rockers sooner or later!
