A list, never complete, of reasons I am thankful:
-I’m living a good life. I’m happy with where I am in life and the direction my life seems to be heading.

-I’ll be having dinner tonight with friends that I share a sacred bond with. Of course we annoy each other at times, but at the end of the

day, we will all feast together as a family.

-I have friends at home who love me as well, and are looking forward to my return.

-I’m in a position to see a wonderful sunset over a plane of sand.

-I’m involved with the world. I’m playing a small part in global events that are shaping the course of history, if even in a small way.

-I haven’t caught any of the nasty rashes I see on half my patients.

-I am halfway done with sending out secondary applications to medical schools.

-I’m reading a really good book (The System of the World-Neal Stephenson).

-I can feel the wind cutting through the dunes, and when the sand hits my calves, it feels like my legs are falling asleep.

-I’m nearly three fourths of the way through this tour.

-I am alive and well in a universe that pulses to it’s own peculiar poetry, and even surrounded by tension, beauty abounds.

-I’m out of the country, so I don’t have to put up with that ‘It’s-the-day-after-Thanksgiving-so-let’s-all-go-to-the-mall’ traffic tomorrow.
