Primaval Sharing a World AU Intro Post
Right.. I don't know if you, my dear flist, remember me posting a little while back a short scene from a new AU I was working on.
Well, I'm still working on the universe even though the main story idea told me to sod off for the time being and instead my muse piled short scenes of this new world on top of me like it was Christmas day. That means I now have several short ficlets from this universe but the only problem so far is that they tend to pop up in a pretty indiscriminate order along the timeline, which is one of the reasons this post exists in the first place.
Here you're going to be able to see exactly where each scene fits in the AU as a whole and as I add more scenes I'll be updating this post as well.
Now, for those who've not read anything about this AU and are debating if they should run away and hide until the storm has past... ;)
This universe is pretty much like the canon series, anomalies exists, creatures from out of our time come out of them from time to time and the team together with the Special Forces soldiers do their best to margin the damage and study the animals. There's one slight difference though, this world is populated by a second sentient species apart the humans, and that is dragons. Dragons speak, they have rights, they serve in the army or have jobs...
So are those who wanted to run gone? Good :) For those still here and reading...
I based my idea for this universe on Naomi Novik's Temeraire books. she writes about dragons fighting alongside humans in the Napoleonic wars. My series takes place in the same world but in modern time and follows those characters that work (or will working depending when in the timeline the scene is set) for the anomaly project.
I hope you'll enjoy these scenes and will not curse my muse (or myself) when I start bouncing all over the timeline at random moments.
Also this is very much a WIP universe and I'm open to any suggestions or concrit anyone would love to drop, I actually beg for them, and feedback in general :)
One more thing, none of these scenes are betaed, so you get my totally undiluted mistakes, I would suggest clearing the desk of any sharp object.. don't tell me I didn't warn you!
