*turns on light and looks around*

So, I took a break from LJ -- not that it was intended, just school and life found it's way into my LJ schedule. Letsee here...

May 8, 2010 - I graduated from St. Edward's University with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science.  Went home, enjoyed the life post-grad, and then the other shoe fell.

May 15, 2010 -- My uncle in Virginia Beach, VA who has in failing health (and was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy.  After finding out that he had been in and out of a hospital, nearly a month previous to my graduation, was rather difficulty.  Upon his passing, the close family decided to fly out to Virginia Beach, VA, seeing how none of us could make the actual funeral.

The summer months, were good, just relaxing and paying off my student loans debt.

August 19-23 - Parents and I flew out to Virginia Beach, VA, and met up with my 3 aunts, my oldest cousin and his new wife, and we enjoyed the weekend. In memorial of my recently deceased uncle we went to his favourite resturant, La Bella Italia.  Overall, it was a great weekend, and I'm glad that I was able to see the family.

August 30 - My uncle, Paul, who was unable to make the Virginia Beach trip, found all of us on Facebook (who is on Facebook), and is attempting communication with us.  How does this affect us?  My uncle Paul has not be in communication with anyone in the family since ~2004 (2005?)

September 14 - I had a one-way ticket to Chicago, on September 25, to finally move my relationship with Roger, a little more than the more than 3 years long-distance.

September 25 - Flew up to Chicago :)

September 26 - Began looking at areas for an apartment.

September 27 - Looked at 7 apartments in Morris, IL (suburb of Chicago, IL).  We also found the apartment that we both loved in downtown Morris, IL.  However, we looked around, while thinking of our options for the apartments, we realised that we had found the one!

September 30 - Made the security deposit for the apartment.

So, where does that leave me now?  We're in the process of moving into the apartment -- well, at least for now, I'm helping Roger move his stuff into the apartment.  We cannot officially move in, yet, considering the landlord is still painting, but we've got the small things moved over there.  We are looking at getting Comcast cable, phone and internet over there this week.

The apartment is ~ 600 sq/feet (minus the entrance way, that we didn't measure), a 1 bedroom, 1 bath apartment.  It's above a business, Jenson's Vac and Sew (which I'd never heard of before!) in the heart of Downtown Morris, IL.  It is within 1 block of the fire department, police station (more to come on that in a minute), and roughly 6 blocks away from the Morris Hospital.  The police station parking lot is 1/2 filled, and the other 1/2 is a parking lot that is an 8-hour parking lot during the day, and at night, as tenants we're more than welcome to use it.    There are pictures online, as well. Some of them, aren't that good, but they're decent -- at least they'll give you an idea.

As I was saying, I will eventually be going back to Texas, to get my stuff and eventually my car.  Roger will then fly down to meet me in Houston, then he will drive back with me.  (Oh joy! 17-18 hours in a car... and 1300 miles drive back).  But, dates for that are not determined yet.

Also, before I forget, I'm planning on doing NaNoWriMo, again this year.  I dont' have much of a plan, not that I've had one in the past.  My goal for this year is just to finish, considering I don't have school or anything going on right now.  Speaking of nothing going on, I still don't have a job, but as of right now, I've put that back on hold (once again).  The government job doesn't seem to be panning out, right now.  However, one can only hope that I'll have some better luck in the Chicago, area, and I'm definatley not letting my dream run away from me.

How has everyone been?   it's definatley good to be back, and I've missed this outlet... it's been busy!
