This is just stunning. I love the quiet maturity that they both have, and the way you gradually laid in back-story to give them pasts that feel fully realized.

And Eduardo's narrative voice... I found myself pausing part way through (when they were still in the Walmart) to try and figure out why I was finding this so heartbreaking, when on the surface it was so charming; and then you gave us that last little bit, and - oh, of course, that was what was hovering behind everything he was doing all along; I just didn't know it yet. And then that you were able to give the ending just enough of a lift to make it so hopeful... Amazing.

oh my goodness, this was fantastic. ugh, it made my heart absolutely ache for Eduardo, but at the same time everyone felt so settled and comfortable that it almost cushioned the emotional blow (in a good way). loved, loved Mark's story and how Eduardo told it, and I love what you did with this concept, honestly.

AHHHHH YOU DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH OF A RELIEF IT IS TO ME TO HEAR THAT YOU LIKED THIS. Like, I saw it at the prompt fest, and I saw rosepetalfall's comment on how she just wanted Mark being adorable with a kid, and I was all I CAN DO ZAT like I was something out of Star Trek, and it was only 11k later when I came back to check the prompt that I realized the finished product turned out to be several degrees to the left of what the prompt specified, and then I got doubly nervous about posting.

Um, tl;dr -- I AM ALL THE RELIEVED FEELINGS. JUST. YOUUUU ♥ Thank you for the prompt, and the kind comment!

IT'S LIKE HAPPY THINGS ARE ANATHEMA TO ME. WHAT IS HAPPY? WHAT IS IT AND WHERE CAN I FIND IT? Every time I try, all the emotional things happen. It's this fandom, it has cursed me to write all the sad things.

But you! You are excellent and kind and thank you, thank you for this comment. I AM SORRY THIS IS NOT THE FLUFFY FIC YOU ARE LOOKING FOR ;___;
