Well, in terms of participating in the Olympics and being successful, I would have to choose something within the sport of archery. No particular contest, just archery in general. Although I suspect if I trained myself how I used to train back when I was an active soldier, I would be quite successful at what they call the 'modern pentathlon'. It would certainly be a challenge, even as I was back then. For those that do not know what the modern pentathlon consists of, the basic premise is one race, five sports. Yes, five. And they are quite varied, consisting of epee fencing, pistol shooting, 200 m freestyle swimming, a show jumping course on horseback, and a 3 km cross-country run. While I am not a big fanatic of a cross-country run, I know that my weakest point would be the horseback. Show jumping? I did not ride a horse for 'show' back in the day, I rode them for speed. Not to mention I am not a good showman. Dramatics is something I tend to lack, and I am certain I would fall quite short in a stage as grand as the Olympics.
But the pentathlon seems challenging, and for that I would likely want to try that one. If not for the swimming, I would ask Delia if she would train with me. Then again, we probably should go to the range together soon. I need to get my re-certification now that I think about it. Well, what do you know, this prompt has come in handy after all.
