Blah, Blah Title Blah

Some promises you kept, even if they hurt.  Some promises you kept because you were stubborn and proud and determined to do the right thing.  It didn't matter if you had to humiliate yourself to make it happen.  It didn't matter if you had to lose something else important.  Some promises you kept.

It didn't mean you didn't regret it later.

Nina disappointed a large screaming mass by emerging from the black car.  They had shrieked and surged forward when the car pulled up, but when the door opened, there was an audible groan and they went back to they previous level of hub-bub.  A harassed looking staffer took her bag and escorted her into the building.

Past the first set of doors, the staffer sped up and started to jog down the endless corrider towards the security checkpoint.  Nina steadfastly refused to rush, and paced behind him ignoring everyone.  There was a small army of people on the other side of the checkpoint, many of whom grabbed phones and started jabbering when they saw her.  She ignored them all.

Dr. Lee separated himself from the mass and came to meet her.  "So you came.  I wasn't sure you would."

"I promised," she muttered.

"You didn't have to."

"You seem to be the only one of that opinion."

"Stop", the doctor, grabbed her arm and spoke into her ear.  "You are not required to do this, not for any of them.  You should feel free to turn around and leave."

"Thank you, but I promised and everything else I said would mean nothing if I didn't keep this promise."

She continued on, until she reached the large men with clipboards, the keepers of the door.  The stepped in front of her, and demanded a name.  Nina quirked an eyebrow, she had been dragged across the country in the middle of the night, put on a private plane, picked up by a driver, brought in with her own security, only to be stopped by rental cops with clipboards?  She gave her name, and waited.

The younger one checked his list, twice.  "Sorry, Ma'am your name is not here."

Nina laughed, "Okay then."

The staffers started talking all at once, grabbing at the security men.  Looks of alarm spread over faces, and more phones were brought out.  A door down the distant end of hallway opened and a figure start to sprint towards the checkpoint.

The elder security guard held up a hand, and said the younger one, "Check again, and check the other list."

"The....other, list?  But...."

"Check.  The Other LIst.:"

Said list was checked, and the younger one blushed.  "Oh, here you are.  Go right ahead"

Nina had had enough and grabbed the clipboard from his hands, he made an aborted attempt to grab it back, but his supervisory was panting and out of breath from his long run.

"Ma'am I am so sorry."

"Its fine." She read the heading on the list and looked up at the faces surrounding her.  "Oh, no its not, its so much not fine.  Who made this list?"
