[a pause as she tries to decypher what he's talking about this time - a mystery, a translation, a plan; god, who knows when it comes to him - and then he's talking again, after the hiss of crumbling something - ]

Where are you? [the 'i'll come there' is unspoken, but she's walking fast, breathing slightly shallow.] Wherever it is, get out of there.

Considering how you're not getting me with static - are you? - and how nothing sounds like crumbling sandy things, I'd say yes.

No--you sound fin- me.

[ no hesitation, no deep breath. a half-second to decide exactly how unkind he wants to be for the sake of finding things out. ]

I don't care if there isn't, it doesn't sound right. [she does hesitate. does take a deep breath. two seconds to know the reason this situation gives her a bad vibe isn't all their brushes with bad vibes in the past, but because she cares (a lot) for what will happen to him. the thought of Alan being in danger somehow makes her as 'women, at arms!' as if it were Jamie.]

Alan, alchemy isn't worth it if you risk getting hurt. Please.

Standing. I'm standing in front of what looks like a giant sand...tower.
