Well, the only pair of shoes I didn't return out of the three bought from GoJane were these -
http://www.gojane.com/31985-shoes-suede-ankle-wrap-toe-strap-sandal.html The fringed sandals were too cheap-looking and seemed like they would fall apart. The ankle-wrap ballet flats were HUGE (I got a 6.5 and I can usually wear a 7!!) and awkward...I could've exchanged them for a smaller size but I'd rather just get something else.
Sooo the summer shoe search continues, mainly because the one GoJane pair I did keep may fall apart by the end of the summer. Seriously, quality and value are not synonymous when it comes to their stuff. I learned my lesson there.
It'd be a lot easier if I weren't so damn picky. I want fringe. I want flat. I want my tattoos to be either fully exposed or fully covered.
I went to the mall today and the selection was horrible. Aldo, Nine West, Baker's, Journeys, Rack Room Shoes, Payless, and your typical selection of department stores...not a single pair that caught my eye (although MY shoes were complimented several times, haha. They may be cheapo but they do stand out!)
I should never, ever, go to modcloth.com EVER again because they have things like this -
http://www.modcloth.com/store/ModCloth/Womens/Shoes/Figaro+Boots which turn me into a quivering pile of shoe-whorish goo. Flat? No. Fringe? Nuh-uh. BADASS? Goes up to 11. Totally should not buy them because I can't justify a $150 pair of shoes? DING DING DING!!!
Then again, just think of all the completely impractical things I've spent hundreds, nay, thousands of dollars on in the past, like anime/manga, conventions, cosplay, and dolls/doll stuff. I'd get much more use out of these shoes than the gorgeous dress I bough for my doll. It doesn't even fit!!
Which reminds me that I need to sell it, which leads me to conclude...that I would then have money...to use for SHOES!!! (and *cough* tattoos *cough cough.*)
In news that doesn't concern spending money,
my savings account > $1000
Yay!!! Despite whatever sort of idea you may get from this journal, I'm actually a very frugal person. My retail therapy typically consists of spending $10 or less at a thrift store.
But I do love me some retail therapy.
Let's change the subject! Last year I gave my dearest JP a piece of artwork with the promise that she would eventually fly me out to visit her in Tulsa. Well, it's finally going to happen! She booked my trip for the last week in May (yes, right before I leave for Chicago). I am gloriously excited. By then it will be a year since we've seen each other.
Well, since I have filled my quota of "bug people on the interwebs" today, I might go to the library. Books to return and all that.
