Today is the first genuinely cold day of the season, cold enough to require a coat in the daytime instead of just at night. I was all wrapped up with coat, hat, gloves, and leggings under my jeans this morning and saw many crazies who had not joined in my good sense. Crazies.
Winter is upon the Carolinas and I am not necessarily happy about it, but I know it's not going to be an oppressive, brain draining midwest winter, so it's okay!
Last night I used a fragrance diffuser I got as a birthday present in my bedroom and it gave me a horrible pressure headache. I didn't get the best sleep as a result. Needless to say I won't be using the fragrance it came with anymore. Perhaps I'll find some "soy tarts" to use in it instead. Maybe something that smells Christmas-y.
Speaking of Christmas, I'm actually getting kind of excited about it this year. Christmas was little more than a drain on my wallet for the past few years...probably because I wasn't home with my family long enought to get the full warm fuzzy effect. Being a basically non-religious person, Christmas isn't much more than an excuse to get the family all together in one room, share food, give gifts, smell good smells, be happy, drink, and act a bit silly. Which is fine and dandy with me.
Then after Christmas is Raun time which is even better than Christmas.
There's a guy sweeping leaves in front of the shop (I'm at work) but it's windy out so his attempts are pretty futile.
Damn it, even though mom was all "don't forget your food!" this morning, I still forgot it. Now I guess I'll have to buy myself some dinner before the volunteer orientation at the Humane Society. But for now I believe I'll make a pot of cream earl grey with plenty of milk and sugar. Mmmm.
I took some pictures of my bedroom now that my bed is finally finished. Will post some later today.
I bought my first TeeFury (www.teefury.com) shirt last night; they're similar to Shirt.Woot! but I tend to like their designs better, although yesterday's was the first that grabbed me enough to buy it.
