Every day I fall more in love...

with Raun. Super cheese, I know. But it's true. I have no idea how I got so lucky. When bad things happen, when I make unwise decisions, I remind myself that Raun makes up for all of it. He's my soulmate.
I just bought a bunch of buttons off of Etsy for the project I'm working on. I have one of James's sewing machines, so I need to set it up and get started on some prototypes. I've just been soooo energy-deprived these past couple days...last night I went to bed before 9 pm and I am STILL tired today ;_;
It is such a scrumptious day out...every day I am knocked back by how beautiful the Carolina autumn is. Somehow I'd forgotten. In Chicago it's already snowing. Fiiiiieeeee.
Raun bought a letterpress this weekend. A tabletop one that only prints up to 5"x7", but that's big enough to make cards and other ephemera. It came with a bunch of type and pretty much everything else you'd need to get started with it, for an absolute steal. I'm really excited about using it in the future!
Weekend, weekend, weekend...it was a fantastic one. Of course Friday was Halloween and I dressed up for work. My coworker somehow forgot that it was Halloween (WHAT???) and didn't dress up. Silly teenagers.
After work I went to Reverb while I waited for Ashley and crew to get downtown. Justin and Noel showed up and it was good to see them. Then it was off to Chicora Alley where I had some angus beef brisket tacos (mmm) and won the costume contest. There wasn't much competition and the prize was only a $25 gift certificate, but hey. I like winning!
Other cool costumes I saw -
Juno, complete with bottle of Sunny D
Member of Daft Punk, not sure which
Bob Ross
Voldemort

Saturday was the Avett Brothers concert! Daniel and I found our seats, which were on the stage floor but really far back...then the kids sitting next to us said their friends would trade tickets with us, because they wanted to sit together. So we did, and ended up really close to the front! Lucky!! And hilariously enough, out of all the hundreds of people at the sold-out show, I ended up sitting next to my coworker's boyfriend, hahaha.
They put on such a great show. Very energetic, so much raw talent. And they sound just as good or better live than they do recorded (which we all know is not a given these days). I melted a little.
Sunday we browsed some artist studios, had lunch at Pho #1, then went to Ashley's to watch The Fifth Element (her roommate Jenni had never seen it, for shame)! Then Daniel had to leave for home, but it was a great visit overall.
Mom and I went out to vote right after I woke up this morning. Thankfully we went after the pre-work crowd and before the lunch crowd, so our wait was only about 45 minutes. It's no wonder lines have been so long, they only had SEVEN voting booths to service thousands of people!!! Talk about inefficient. Makes you wonder if they simply underestimated the turnout or....something else. Grrr.
ANYWAY...if you haven't voted you still have an hour and a half to do so (if you live on the east coast like me...if you live elsewhere then you have even longer)! So get out there, damn it!
Obama, yay!
