They all scraggly and shit.
One more week until Raun is here!!! Unfortunately he'll only be here for almost four days, but something is much better than nothing.
So remember when I posted about going through a deep puddle, then my car started sounding like it didn't have a muffler? Well, that's because it practically didn't. The exhaust pipe that leads from the engine to the muffler had come unattached. We got it rewelded for about $50. Annoying, but it certainly didn't break the bank. Now the car is fine, aside from its typical problems (like the spedometer not working when it's cold out, which is going to become much more of a problem in future months.)
Since I work on the weekends I don't get to see dad much these days, especially since he goes to bed so early on weeknights. This morning I got up with about 45 minutes to spare before I had to leave for work. Dad decided to lecture me about the car and the fact that they had to spend $50 on it. I guess he thinks since something happened to the car, I must've been driving recklessly. He's ridden in the car with me before, so he knows I'm not a reckless driver. It was dark and rainy that night, of course I wasn't driving recklessly! As I said before, I wasn't even going the speed limit when it happened! It was purely a case of not seeing a big pothole because it was covered with water. The main thing is that he couldn't talk to me about it in a respectful tone; instead he was accusatory, which automatically puts me on the defensive. He doesn't want me to "talk ugly" to him, but when he does the exact same thing to me, what else can he expect? So frustrating.
I'm sorry it cost money to fix the car. I certainly didn't mess it up on purpose. Things like this happen, it's part of owning a car. It doesn't mean that I'm reckless or that I don't respect my parents' property.
BLAH.
Today is the last day of the Fall For Greenville festival. Work has been insane this weekend. I'm looking forward to my three days off with much more longing than usual.
