I think someone with a ton of money should do a scientific experiment with a group of politicians.
- Hire a slick lawyer type to write up two similar, but worded differently, pieces of phony legislation; something that involves giving millions of dollars to llama owners or something.
- Donate $500k to 10 Senators, and $250k to 20 Representatives and 'suggest' the the first phony legislation.
- Donate $1000 to 10 different senators, and $500 to 20 representatives and 'suggest' the second phony legislation.
- If the first legislation gets passed and not the second, then you then you have a solid data point that the system is too easily influenced by money.
- If both pieces of legislation get passed, you have both a solid data point that money influences the system too much, and that politicians are retarded and don't even understand the crap they are voting on.
- If neither legislation passes, then there is data pointing to the fact that politicians aren't nearly as 'easy' to get bought off then we thought.
