So, about the rest of my latest ME2 run...
When I last posted, I wasn't finished with the suicide mission yet. I had lost, in order: Tali, Jack, Garrus, and Mordin.
The rampant deaths didn't stop there, though. I took Miranda and Legion with me to fight the Human Reaper. Legion pulled through after getting buried in rubble, on account of the fact that he was the sole party member I'd done the loyalty mission for. It almost seemed like Miranda was going to make it for, like, two seconds, but then she died in Shepard's arms. I felt so horrible, especially after she'd given the Illusive Man her "consider this my resignation" speech.
Meanwhile, the rest of the group didn't make it back to the Normandy entirely unscathed. Jacob bit the dust.
So, at this point, when the Illusive Man had his little tantrum over the destruction of the Collector Base, my Shepard was pretty exhausted and upset and was pretty much like, "Bitch, I will cut you."
So, yep. Base destroyed, mission accomplished. I nearly bawled when the game showed Shepard grieving over six caskets. Good god, that shit was a bloodbath.
Surviving party members: Grunt, Legion, Samara, Thane, and Zaeed.
I'm glad they survived, mind you, but losing everyone else. I get all emo at the party select screen now when I see all the red silhouettes.
So, that's that. I now have two new playthroughs (this game is crack). Well, scratch that. Only one of them is actually new: a dainty-looking blonde femShep Spacer/War Hero/Sentinel who is actually going to be mostly paragon, unlike the bulk of my characters who can't seem to decide what their overall alignment actually is (this last one I just finished was an equal split between Paragon and Renegade through most of the game until the end where her decisions gave her a few extra Paragon points). The other character is actually a male Shepard that I played a decent chunk of the game with and then got sidetracked and forgot about, he's an extremely Paragon Sentinel and I... totally can't remember what his backgrounds are.
I've been playing on Veteran mostly lately. Anything lower feels too easy. What have I become? I think I blame overexposure to RE5's Professional difficulty.
I'm going to be getting Kasumi today, so there may be some further ME2 squeeing later.
