I wanna go to Helsinki!
I do actually really want to go. Well, actually to Espoo, but it isn't far from Helsinki.
First I have to apply for a passport - my last one was in my maiden name and I got it just to go to Canada and get engaged in 2000. It became fairly redundant after the first October when I got married.
Ironically I will now have to apply for one in my married name.
Ah well.
The flights look cheap enough - even travelling from Southampton instead of Heathrow.
I shall be booking a hotel - not sure if it should be closer to Helsinki (probably more expensive) or closer to Espoo, where I'm visiting henshaw69 . There is a lake nearby (Finland is peppered with them) and a beautiful national park.
I may hire a car to get about, as it will be useful (especially if samhain_phoenix comes too!) so we can go picnicking etc, in relative comfort.
