Hello Everyone & Happy New Year!

Jan 05, 2003 21:34

Well - Christmas was really unimpressive (apart from my visa bill!) but the overall feeling was one of catching up - with family, friends, any jobs that needed doing and my sleep debt (hallelujah!).

We had the kids but not till Crimbo eve, just Boy2 overnight, then we all met up with Boy1, his Mum, Jack Skellington (his step Dad) and Icklegirl (Boy1's stepsister, who's six & very cute - will put piccies on my website when I get it on line). Managed to avoid Boy2's mum but saw her boyfriend & said Merry Crimbo to each other.

Took all kids home after 1pm & came back to Adultsville with just Minnie&Micky (hubby's ma&pa), Jack Skellington, Hubby & me. Got happy on Cava & Cherry Brandy (don't ask - it was just there!), fell asleep in front of the Bond film, woke up and played Trivial Persuit for 4 hours and all the questions we'd had came round again so we all won loads of pieces of pie!

Hubby, Jack & I got a Taxi circa midnight & we slept most of Boxing Day, getting up at 3pm to get ready to go to The Chatsworth, a lovely hotel run by hubby's CousinD. We got round there a bit late, having first met Jack to go for a drink in the Rectory, but there was no one in!

So we went for a bevvy in The Bar on The Corner & who should stroll by but CousinD's partner J! She came in with her friend and was obviously out of her head pissed, but she finished half her drink when she remembered she was supposed to be going home to cook up some dinner for some friends they were having round (it became obvious that she had completely forgotten that they'd invited us as one of the guests on crimbo Eve!). So she said something like 'See you in the Week!' & left.

We were still there when CousinD & friend turned up & said 'why don't you come round & have dinner - there's plenty for all!' so we went after all! Wasn't sure it was a good idea when we were still there around 2am watching dodgy home movies of them all in Portugal PLUS someones wedding (we really paid for our free dinner!)

Friday went in a blur then we went out for a bevvy with V&T from Bournemouth and the world & his wife joined us sat in the Hogs Head! Saw ppl we hadn't seen for years who were arm in arm with ppl I work with!!! Bizarre!

Drank too much at the Rectory (well, someone else was paying - friend of V & Hubby's from way back) & crashed into bed at 3pm

Woke up 7am Saturday to go to work! Argghhh! Long long day - no customers, very cold, very bored. Its hard to get inspired about gardening when you've just spent 8 hours dead heading spring bedding (MOULDY spring bedding, at that!). Took kids round to Minnie& Mickeys as per usual - felt more awake after dinner & did the giant Crimbo crossword in the Echo till 10.30! Still went to bed after 2pm.

Sunday - took kids & Minnie to see Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets - cracking film - got to get one of those cars - I might just make it into school on time in the mornings past the road works on Dorchester Road!

Monday - 10am went to see Counsellor again - seems to be helping, but not got any specific ideas yet, just getting things off my chest! Took down kitchen ceiling before it fell down on top of us (been leaking more & more since we've had the central heating back on). Cleaned everying up & entertained mes parents 5.30pm till midnight. Went to bed 2ish! (slowly getting earlier!).

Tuesday - Drove rubble from kitchen to tip, dropped off R&V pressies & picked up Jack for a night in Bournemouth - Jack going to friends of his & Hubby & I went to V&Ts to bring in the New Year! Had lots of Champagne & one glass of Tequila (but very watered down). Had a fun night playing Truth or Dare Jenga, playing guitars (badly) & singing along to old songs!

Wednesday - New Years Day! Drove home after waking at 12.30pm! Washed lots of hubby's clothes & dried & packed them. Went to bed 3am -not good.

Thursday - Woke at 5am, 5.20, 5.40 & 5.50 before we finally got out of bed to pack hubby off on his 500mile drive to Scotland. Drove him into work in the pissing rain (really torrential - there were floods at the gates & the tide was up in the harbour too!) - looked like something from The Perfect Storm! Hubby txted as they got to Brum & again whe he got to the Hotel (8pm). Dark day - worked on website so I didn't notice the time so much.

Friday - Relax - sleep - woke when R phoned & asked if she could drop pressy round 9am (I thought - do you know how early this is for me?, but said yeah sure, after 10.30) So spent the day chatting with her at home & at her house. Nice to catch up, tho. Spent some of evening on the net - brain_error & nomyx were about for a while - nice talking to you guys!

Saturday - got dressed in proper grownup clothes & went into town - shopped in sales & got my Ma a small pressy for her birthday (22nd January, Aquarius) & my sister, for hers(7th February, Aquarius). Stuffed myself for dinner with all the nice veg in the fridege then chucked out all the old stuff. Spoke to hubby on phone & went to bed at a reasonable time! 11.30pm!

Sunday - Got up & went to work, but made time for a fried egg sarnie first so it didn't matter that i was stood in the cold (it probably helped that I was wearing woolly tights, leggings and thick socks under my uniform! Sexy lady!). Hubby txted & I phoned him but he's just driven from Scotland to Malvern in Worcestershire (Sauce!) so he's off to find some food b4 everything shuts. As form me, back to school 2morrow - only no-one to come home to at 5pm - except BIG FAT BODDINGTON CAT! & his slinky sidekick, Mad Amber.

And if you read all that you'd be exhausted too!

Love to all & sundry & any friends who may read this & to whom I have regrettably not sent a crimbo card - the news is - you're not getting one! its too late - I shall just send you a round-robin, if you let me know your email addresses! Life's too short!

Look forward to seeing brain_error & nomyx later this month or early next month ; )

And Glenn - if you are reading this, Mr Huggybear, then get in touch - your giftee is being snoozed on by a fat ginger cat, but it's probably still serviceable!

LOVE TO ALL & HAPPY NEW YEAR - REMEMBER ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE - YOU JUST HAVE TO BELIEVE IN IT!
