Summary:  Sho had kept in secret for many years the feelings he had for his brother, until one day when everything changes.

It was a bright summer day, 2 kids playing in the beach were laughing while the wind messed with their hair. The taller one grabbed the hand of the other and started running to the sea shore.

"Sho-chan, wait." the smaller one said between giggles following the other one until they stopped and sat on the sand.

"When we grow up, we'll live here." Sho said with a smile on his lips while his cheeks turned a light pink.

The smaller one opened his eyes big as plates and smiled brightly.

"Really, Sho-chan!?"

"Yups, you and me. I'll take care of you forever."

Both kids smiled to each other while holding their hands tighter and sat looking at the sea.

"Excuse me, I'm Sakurai Sho I got called by the principal here..."

"Sho-chan!" A tall skinny man jumped to hug him without letting him finish his sentence.

"Are you okay?" Sho said turning around and cupping between his hands the face of the boy, giving him a sweet worried look.

"I'm fine now you are here."

"What happened?" he asked before turning to look at the old lady sitting in the desk in front of them, "I'm sorry" he excused and grabbed the hand of his brother sitting on the bench in the hall.

"I...I'm sorry" the boy said with his eyes filled with tears.

"Shh is okay, but I don't know how to help if you don't tell me what happened." Sho said with a sweet tone trying to comfort his brother.

"I heard this guy... saying bad things about you, and I got angry... and we started fighting when the principal arrived and..."

"I have told you not to listen to what other people say Masaki."

"I know."

Sho patted the hand of Masaki, while he couldn't avoid feeling guilty. It wasn't the first time Masaki had fought to defend him, being known as the "weird guy" of the school didn't exactly make things easy for him or his brother.

Sho had always felt a special love for his brother since they were really young, not the kind of love most brothers feel, but something stronger, deeper. He knew it even since they were small and innocent, and the more Sho grew, the more he realized how different his feelings were from the conventional fraternal love.

He tried to hide it, to deny it to himself. He spent nights crying and hating himself for feeling that, he knew it was wrong, not only Masaki was a boy, but he was also his brother, blood of his own blood. What would they parents think if they ever found about his feelings? Probably they would despise him and feel disgusted by it, so he needed to keep it to himself, as a secret that threatened to come out every single minute he spent with his brother.

For years, he spent every waking moment trying to make sure his brother knew how much he loved him, how much he cared for him, but when confusion and doubts appeared once his feelings where clear appeared, he knew he couldn't keep being like that with him. He spent a dark stage once he turned 14, taking distance not only from his brother but also from the rest of his family. Their parents didn't questioned him, for them was a normal phase now that he was becoming a teenager, and so they explained to Masaki. During that time, Sho spent nights crying and even hurting himself for the guilt of hurting the person he loved the most. Masaki used to sit at nights in front of his door crying and asking if he had done something bad for him to hate him, and he needed to fight with himself to not run and hug him and tell him it was not his fault.

Sometimes Sho thought it was better like this, if Masaki hated him, it would make things easier for the younger one.

With the pass of the months, their parents realized that Sho's dark stage was beyond just a simple age thing, and they decided to take him to a specialist against Sho's will, he wasn't crazy he said, but deep inside he questioned that himself. After a few weeks of therapy, Sho seemed to be better, but still the relation with Masaki kept being distant, Sho didn't know how to get close to his brother again. On one side, he had hurt him, and on the other, he was still fighting his feelings. And also, there was the fact that Masaki was deeply hurt. For him, Sho was his everything since he was a baby, the person that he trusted and loved the most, and the one that have promised to take care of him forever, yet he had pushed him to a side, despite how much he tried to know if he had done something bad, it looked like Sho plainly forgot about him.

It took Sho many, many apologies and to deal with a very bratty Masaki for them to even began to start talking again. Soon, things became better between them, though at times Sho was still afraid of doing or saying something that could expose his feelings, especially when he started to have improper thoughts about his brother, day dreaming about how would be like to kiss him, to touch him. But he always managed, and he had to admit therapy helped him a lot to deal with things.

*

Two years later things took its own pace, Sho had accepted his feelings for Masaki and tried to deal with them the best he could, he was, again, the sweet loving brother that Masaki had missed deeply. And Masaki had to admit that he loved the attention of his brother, he liked how special he made him feel, like he was the most special thing in the world, and bragged to his friends about how great his brother was.

Sho, on the other hand, was now having issues to control his mind and his thoughts regarding his brother than his feelings. Now he didn't only daydreamed about kissing him or touching him, now his mind was going further, specially at nights when he had to look for a release touching himself, imaging it was his brother doing it for him. It didn't help the fact that sometimes Masaki acted like a big baby and at his 15 years old he still liked to sneak to bed with him every now and then.

By then, Sho knew he didn't like girls, but he wasn't sure either that he liked boys. For him the world started and ended with Masaki, but he also knew it was matter of time before his parents started bothering him about dating and stuff of the like, that’s why he took a decision, but he wanted Masaki to know first, his reaction was the thing that worried him the most.

"Masaki." He said one afternoon while they watched TV on the living room.

"Yeah?" the younger man said without moving his eyes from the TV.

"You know... I have something to tell you." he couldn’t avoid his voice coming out shakier than what he expected.

Masaki turned and looked him with worried eyes.

"Are you okay? Is something wrong?" he said while standing from the floor and sitting next to him in the couch.

"I... like boys Masaki." he said bluntly, there was no point of adorning things, he wanted to know how Masaki felt about that.

Masaki couldn't avoid the shock, but quickly his gaze softened and hugged his brother.

"That's it? You scared me!" he said pouting "I thought it was something bad!"

Sho broke the hug and looked at him.

"This isn't bad?"

This time Masaki looked at him with serious face.

"Why would it be? You like boys, what's the big deal? Now I won't have to get jealous when you bring a girl home." he poked Sho's nose and started laughing while resting his head on Sho's shoulder.

Sho could feel his heart beating faster and he swore it could come off of his chest at any minute, did Masaki had really mentioned jealousy? Joking or not, it had made Sho really happy to hear him saying that.

"Sometimes I forget how smart you are." he said teasingly, trying to act all cool.

Now that he knew Masaki was cool with who he was, he needed to talk with his parents, he was calm and ready to whatever reaction his parents could have, he knew he had Masaki support and that was enough for him.

"Are you sure you want to do this alone?" The familiar voice of his brother came from the door.

"Yeah, don't worry, I'll be fine."

Masaki pouted but didn't insist more.

"Okay, I'll be in my room, but everything will be fine, you'll see." he added before running to hug him before leaving the room.

Sho took a deep breath and headed downstairs where his parents were in the living room watching TV.

"Can we talk?" he said with a serious face.

"Is everything okay, son?" his father said.

"You will tell me, I know this isn't what you expect of me, but this is who I am and you can accept it or not, but won't change who I am."

Sho looked at their parents, both with serious face and then something caught his attention, on the bottom of the stairs was Masaki sitting in silence. That gave him the strength to continue.

"I'm gay."

Both of their parents looked at him surprised, and started to say a lot of things, but Sho didn't pay attention. He was focused on Masaki being there giving him support, the last thing he could recall was his mother hugging him before coming back to reality again.

"You are our son, and that won't change, we would just prefer things differently." said his father before storming out of the room followed by his mother. Then, Masaki stood up and went to hug him.

"Give them time, they need to digest it, that's all." he said kissing his cheeks.

"I know." Sho smiled at his brother.

*

Eventually, and as Masaki had said, their parents came to understand Sho and accepted him without problem, but it was matter of time before rumors about him started flying around school. Sho was used to be made fun off, either because he was a "smart ass" or later to be called "crazy" during his dark stage and therapy. He had learn to deal with those, because as his mother had told him once, not everyone can love you or like you, and he was fine with it. He didn't have many friends, well he didn't have any friend, his only company was his brother and it was fine for him, cause he didn't need more than that. It wasn't till those rumors started to affect his brother that they became a problem for him.

This was the third time Masaki was brought to the principal's office for fighting to defend him, and even when he had asked him to ignore all the nasty things people said, he also knew he was very impulsive and reacted like this. Sho had to admit he also felt moved of the act, but even so, he knew it was wrong.

"Are they going to call our parents?" Masaki said pulling him out of his thoughts.

"I don't know, but maybe not, they would have done it by now."

"True."

"But this can't continue Masaki...."

Before he could say anything else, they were called to the principal's office, and after a long talk and a new warning, both of them headed home.

Once there, Sho was relieved to see the house was alone, so he could take care of Aiba's wounds without any of their parents to realize.

"Go to your room, I'll go look for things to clean your wounds."

"Yay!" Masaki said raising his arms forgetting about the punches he had received on his ribs "Ouch! I prefer when Sho-chan does it, he's more gentle than mum"

Sho didn't know if he was hallucinating, but he saw the younger man blushing before heading upstairs.

Once he had it all, he went to meet his brother in his room. Masaki was lying in bed wearing only his jeans, and suddenly tons of dirty thoughts made his way through Sho’s mind. Great timing he thought, getting inside and sitting on the bed next to him.

"Well, it’s not as bad as the other times, so let's start." he said while trying to shake off his mind all his thoughts.

"I don't like when people say bad things about you. It hurts." his brother said looking to the side while sho cleaned one of his cuts in his hand.

"I'm sorry." Sho said feeling guilty "Maybe I should stop going to school there."

"No!" his brother replied turning quickly to look at him and groaning in pain for the sudden move.

"Shh." Sho said and kissed his hand right where the cut was. "I just don't want people to keep hurting you because of me."

This time, Sho knew he wasn't hallucinating when he looked at Masaki and his face was red as a tomato.

"I don't mind. I'd do anything for Sho." the younger man replied.

Sho smiled and moved to clean the wounds on his chest, without being able to hold himself he leaned to kiss them, making the other moan softly, but this wasn't because of the pain as Sho noticed when the bulge on his brother's pants started to grow.

"Sho." Masaki said cupping Sho's face between his hands.

"I love you." the other replied, he couldn't hold it anymore "I have always loved you."

"I know." the younger said, and Sho could see something different in his eyes.

"You knew?"

As all reply, Masaki kissed him. The brush of Aiba's lips against his felt better than whatever he had imagined before, he felt his chest was about to explode and suddenly he stopped thinking and let his body do as it pleased. Soon, the kisses became heated, deeper, while both of them roamed all over the other's body, touching and exploring each other.

That night was when all started. Masaki told him he had loved him in secret too since he could remember. And when he told him he was gay, he was happy because that meant he had a chance.

Once their parents arrived, everything was normal, but certain complicity had started between them. Since that day, Masaki kept sneaking into Sho's bed and made love, just to return to his bed before their parents would wake up. It hurt to have to be apart of the other, but they knew they needed to keep the secret, and both of them were conscious that they needed to make sacrifices, at least till they could find a way to not have to hide their love.
