So I have been doing a bit of work today related to setting up cameras to record stuff I build or find interesting.
The webcam I am going to use as the “overhead” shot for the table is decent enough but does not have a flip vertical or horizontal option with its standard driver. After much playing about online I discovered you can indeed get software to flip the image for you and still let it output to another program. Alas this costs $49.99 which I do not have so I have instead come up with my own option using about £1.50 worth of materials, my drill and some patience.
FrankenCam
Quite good all in all and as you can see I found my tripod and have the camera set up now for nice overhead shots when I be working/reviewing whatever.
All it took was an old metal ruler, two cheap metal L-brackets, a few bolts and my trusty drill.
