hamster cheek

I had a wisdom tooth extraction on Thursday morning and it went considerably better than I had feared. The surgery itself was over in ten minutes or so and I was only in the surgeon's office for an hour altogether. I have a few stitches in my lower jaw though. I got a cold pack and plenty of painkillers and the instruction to use them liberally, so I'll be alright. I just look weird with the right side of my face swollen up like a hamster.

So I was on sick leave for the last two days and finally managed to get caught up with everything. Because of the crazy amount of work and lots of Vienna weekends I spent little time at home lately (that I wasn't asleep or braindead) and it was getting pretty bad. I read my newsfeeds, tidied up my apartment, made hummus and soup, got caught up on my read list for july and august (that's how far behind i was) and my bookcrossing journal entries. I even finished a book and watched two dvds I had taken out from our library. If I keep at it like this I might get my bills sorted and filed this weekend. But let's not get carried away. I doubt I could handle this much excitement and it also might prove to create awful backlash, like explained in http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/06/this-is-why-ill-never-be-adult.html

Good thing I'm not supposed to do anything too strenuous or the wound will bleed again, so I had a great excuse not to actually clean.

catching up, post op
