i owe you an update
i know.
i had a few paragraphs all written up and then something went wrong and the autosave draft feature failed and now i have to start again but i'm tired. so, how about a picture instead? This is the pompously named "tower of knowledge", the 15 storey building that was opened in 2007 and houses the city library, a learning centre and an adult education centre.
It's only a 8 minute downhill walk through a park from my flat and when the weather isn't foggy, which seems to be rarely the case, then it looks like this (not from my flat, but from the park opposite):
Yes, I have an access card for the uppermost floor and the door to the roof ;-)
