"March is wasted fifteen days..."

Mar 15, 2011 18:01

Well, the Ides of March are come (but not gone!), and I couldn't let the day slip by without wishing my fellow conspirators lovely flist a happy Caesar-Stabbing Day.

Sorry about my radio silence these last few weeks. How's your dissertation coming along?

Tis okay my dear, I've been out of the loop for a few weeks too. The dissertation is so close to being finished, if the stupid depression didn't keep making me loose interest in everything.

How be you at the mo? Also sorry this took a couple of days to reply to, apparently LJ stopped emailing comment notifications...again...

The lack of comment notifications lately is not very helpful...

Ah no, are you feeling low, too? *hugs* Me? Ergh - I'm not really sure whether I'm coming or going these days. We should try and meet up soonish, if it won't take you away from your dissertation too much. I'm missing you. :(

To quote Cassius, "I cannot drink too deep of Brutus' love."

I love today.

Happy Ides of March to you, too! My life is more than a bit frenetic at the moment; I haven't had a spare second for the past few days. Still, perhaps we can have some belated Ides related activities? I'll see what I can work up.

Ugh. Same here. Life has been all over the place for the last few weeks, and I'll bet we're not the only ones. Belated Ides activities sound great, provided you can find a moment to squeeze them in! I'm kind of useless of thinking of ideas like this, but prompt-fests always go down a treat! :) Apart from that... nope, I'm useless. XD

OH MAN, I'M SO LATE. BAD NADIA! *slaps wrist*

ANYWHO, OH MAN, HAPPY IDES! I was so excited all day, and then I had no one to squee with. Just one guy referencing the play in our greek myth class. Disappointment indeed, I know.

ALSO, HAVE A LINK. Sorry for not asking, but - I couldn't help it. ('Sides, it's not as if many people will see it...)

ALSO ALSO THAT IS AN AMAZING CAESAR!HAMSTER. JUST SAYING.

YAY! *hugs*

What did he say? And why did you not reference it right back, and spark off a JC-reference-fest? Really. *sighs*

I kid, I kid. Me, I'd planned to scrawl "Cave Idus Martias" (or maybe "Cavete" would have been more appropriate) on the whiteboard in the room where I have Latin, but I wasn't in uni, so that sort of... didn't happen. :(

Heehee. No need to apologise - I'm actually rather flattered that you find it worth sharing with the Interwebs at large. Also, I don't think I've ever been described as "inimitable" before! You sure know how to flatter a girl! Alsoalso, that tag is pure truth. *Brutusy hugs all round*

ISN'T IT THE GREATEST? THE WONDERS OF GOOGLE IMAGE SEARCH. XD

He just... I can't quite remember, but either someone mentioned the date or I was doing some minor squeeing over the date, and he was like "Yeah, because in Julius Caesar, he's told to beware the Ides of March." And I was like, "Yeah, because that's when he was killed. Old Shakey did read the Plutarch." But a few other people were talking and he didn't seem particularly interested in what I had to say, and... yeah. He started complaining about having to study JC too many times, and the teacher walked in... It was a little disappointing, to say the least.

Yes, I can imagine not actually being in uni wouldn't help with that plan. XD Shame.

Well, you are inimitable! Inimitably amazing and awesome and all manner of good things!
