The Lost finale left me, still to this day, thinking about what happened and trying to understand what it all meant.
There are a lot of things I want to talk about, but I won´t put them all in one post 'cause it would be way too long. The Jate part will have a post of it´s own ;)
FLASH SIDEWAYS
When it ended I didn´t know what to think of the FS. I didn´t know what they meant, what was their purpose and even if I liked it.
¨Everyone dies sometime kiddo. Some of them before you, some long alter you¨
¨This is a place that you all made together, so that you could find one another¨
So, it was some kind of purgatory, some kind of place between life and, let´s say, heaven, I didn´t understand what the purpose of it was, but the more I think about it, and after reading what other people got from it, I think I understand a little more.
They had to deal with the unresolved issues they still had when they died: Jack with his Daddy issues , Sawyer had to redeem himself from being a criminal by being the opposite, a cop, Hurley had to overcome his bad luck trauma, Desmond had to get Widmore´s respect, and find Penny (witch makes me think he never got off the island). Claire had to be with Aaron, etc. But I didn´t understand some people´s FS, like Charlie and Sayid
Even though it seamed like every 2 minutes someone was remembering the island I got emotional with every one of them. Specially Sun, Kate, Sawyer and Juliet and of course Jack.
Sawyer & Juliet: It was really lovely, and when Sawyer says ¨I got you¨ I just wanted to cry. Also how they start having the same dialog they had in when she died in the premiere.
So, the ¨it worked¨ wasn´t about the H bomb preventing the plain crash, but about the candy machine dropping the Apolo Bar
I found it fitting that Kate remember while helping Claire deliver Aaron, since he was what drove her ever since she came back to the island. Besides, even though she loves Jack she didn´t stay on the island to do what she promised she´d do. Reunite who had been her son for 3 years with his real mother.
Also found it fitting that jack was so resistant to let the memories take over, first with Locke, then Kate and finally he couldn´t fight it anymore with his fathers coffin. That´s our stubborn Jack :)
I also enjoyed Juliet & Jack ´s scene at the hospital. I´ve always loved their friendship and I´m glad we saw some of that too.
The Ben & Locke and Ben & Hurley scenes outsider the church where also great. I guess Ben, like Ana Lucia, still had things he had to work out. I think maybe he wanted to wait for Alex too.
I found the whole reunion in the church a bit cheesy, it was like someone was gonna say ¨Ok let´s all gather up for a group picture¨. But it was closure and so typical Lost, with all the reunions and hugs, I did enjoy it.
ISLAND
I loved the island stuff! Even though I didn´t expect all of it, I really liked it. I enjoyed the mythology throughout the whole series, but it wasn´t what got and kept me hooked, so I´m fine with: they had to take the cork out so they could kill MIB and put it back on to save the island and restore the Light. I get how die-hard mythology fans would`n be satisfied with it, but we where told from day one that the show wasn´t only about the crazy stuff that happened on the island, but about this group of people being put in the middle of it.
MIB is dead.
Jack sacrificed himself for his friends
Hurley is the new Jacob and Ben his #2 ( loved that btw).
Kate helps Claire get back to Aaron.
Alpert is really alive again.
Rose and Bernad, and Vincent, survive because they don´t get involved.
I don´t know what Sawyer is gonna do when he get´s back to the real world, I would hope he´d be a dad to his daughter.
I was glad to see Lapidus alive, and even though he and Miles seamed to be there just to deliver funny lines, I enjoyed and laughed with every one of them.
¨I don´t relieve in many things, but I do believe in duct tape¨ LMFAO
We got bad-ass Kate back. Nice…. and right on time.
A moment that I also loved was the scene where Jack tells Hurley that he´s gonna have to protect the island now. I´ve loved this 2 since season 1, and even though they weren´t all buddy-buddy at some point, the way it ended with them believing in each other was just beautiful.
I loved the talk Hurley and Ben had at the end, how Hugo would be such a good Jacob, because it is so true, with his kind soul he´d do a much better job. Also how Ben finally got what he wanted, to have a purpose, be important and have someone believe in him, that he could do good.
Something a lot of people predicted all this years, that it would all end with Jack´s eye. I really liked it, even though it was so sad it comforted me hat he died in peace. Vincent coming and laying there, keeping Jack company while he died was beautiful.
Easter egg:
Charlie adn his FATE bandage.
Do not disturb Fate?
I´m pretty sure I´ll post more about Lost later because I just can´t stop thinking about it :)
I miss it already.
Love.-
