As for women in the military, they are now allowed on subs, which is new. It seems like if it's not ok to discriminate against women, then it's not any more right to discriminate against gays. If you're capable of serving, you should be allowed to serve, with no need to lie about who you are.
You'd think, but it seems like everyone else's rights are getting straightened out before women's (not that I'm a rabid feminist or anything... *cough*) I can think of no scarier enemy than a thousand women with PMS holding machine guns. ;) Seriously, I understand most women probably couldn't handle the physical demands of some positions, but those who can should be given the chance to serve like anyone. I know a few women who's dream was to go into the military but they weren't allowed into the post they wanted.
I guess I don't think of rights of being something that one group should get before another group is allowed to have them. If rights can be given a group now, it shouldn't wait. (And women are affected by DADT too.)
I'm just still shocked that women are STILL being screwed and I feel if they are going to address that issue, they need to address women in the military and their not. It's not about 'who gets rights first' but why we get rights last (if that makes sense)
I love your Alice costume, your embroidery was just amazing :D
I really hope 2011 brings you better luck in the job field. Look forward to seeing your Padme senate costume progress, and whatever else you work on next year :D
Thanks :) I again have an overly-ambitious costume list for the year ;) I only ever get half done of what I want to. Bet you know how that is. It's the Costumers Curse
