Home from Chicago! We had fun, we stayed at my grandma's... she has no A/C and while I don't generally like A/C, it was 90 in the house, so that was a chore. We spent most of the time in the kitchen listening to her talk. That woman can talk 12 hours straight and not tire of it, it's amazing. I love her though *g*
Jonesy wanted to come with us
We ate our favorite Chicago pizza, Phil's while we were there... twice ;)... mom and I went shopping at Vogue Fabrics which we do every time. They are who the Farthingale corset supply site ships from, but they don't carry the stuff in-store, unfort. but I got some other neat stuff. I wanted a cream dupioni for my victorian corset I'll be making for my steampunk, and I found this remnant of a gold/cream dupioni:
Also, cotton lawn was $1.99 a yard! I've had a hard time finding lots of it to chose from. I had to order white anyway for chemises so I grabbed 5 yards of that, and I've been searching for a good fabric for a regency dress but have had trouble finding anything suitable for period, and I think this will do:
I already have a corset made and the frame for a bonnet, but I think my next year is pretty booked. I don't think it would take long to make though, so it's on my list but I'll have to stash it for awhile. I couldn't beat that price!
