Steampunkedness

I've had a couple ideas floating around in my head for Steampunk designs, so I've got this one on paper. I don't do "cosplay" stuff, but for Steampunk I felt I had to create a character, because the type of clothes, look & functionality etc, depends on the person, their career and whatnot. I of course want to do aristocrat so I can wear all the foofery. The first design idea I had was a Navigator, that one will have the full bustleskirt, white foofy shirt and a fitted vest, with a bandolier of navigating tools. This one is for the same 'character', with the idea that she's a scholar and likes to travel and go on excavation digs... I designed it after male safari gear but cut along the female lines. It's khaki with a white shirt and brown fishnets. The skirt is actually coulottes and may or may not have a light bustle in the back. I have a lot more thoughts on this design I won't bore you with ;) If the costumes I have planned this year go well and get done I plan to work on a Victorian corset at the end of the year, and I'll probably put my two designs to a vote to see which to do (first).
