Today Taunts Me

Jun 17, 2005 17:11

Feel groggy today, not as 'blaugh' as the last couple days. Probably thanks to the weather; it's hard to feel ill-ish when the day cries out to you, "Come! Walk the dog! Read by sunlight! Mess with lawn machinery! Get a sunburn you won't care about because it was enjoyable getting it! There is so much you can do!... Oh wait, HAHAHAH, you have to sit in an office and work. SUCKER!!" True, the office has three walls of tall windows (the rest of the walls, excluding the heavy metal door, being made out of sandstone-tinted cinderblock. For the record, the floor is disgusting green tile straight out of a school cafeteria, and the ceiling is that stereotypical office ceiling foam board that looks like some bored villain attacked it with a herd of dull pencils). But it just ain't the same. I've gone out of the office with little provocation - three times I had something to give the person working outside. It is far easier for them to come to the window of the office to get it. Instead I went out to them.

The night person has no car. As of seven (two hours, about), I will be the only one on duty here. Seems to be the trend; both the coworker I rarely see and the one I rarely enjoy the company of were gone at least two hours ago. I should really work. Have only done one transaction. It is the day, I tell you! I keep staring out the window in wistful awe. It is one of those rare days I think to myself, "What an idiot I am, to work second shift."

If the sun wasn't so bright, the sky would be a deep azure; instead it is a pale one, with a mixture of thick puffy clouds and washy, gauzy ones. I will likely take a walk today. The temperature is perfect and the humidity is nonexistent without the day being dry.

It taunts me so.

By the by, I made myself a couple new icons. I have come to the random decision to only make my own. All three are photos I have taken - my general one is of my rabbit Six, which was taken with "old" fashioned film; the other two, of a leopard (made less than spectacular due to the fact that there is a blur of chainlink fence between myself and the cat) and a seagull in flight, were taken with my precious digital camera. I love the fact that I don't waste paper or time with bad photos. I can just keep the ones that make me look good.

Ah, the sun is starting its descent. The sky grows more deeply azure every few minutes.
