Not Dead Yet.

Here's hoping that I do not get blocked from my own journal for changing the icons and updating for the first time in almost a year and a half.  Yeah, I cheated and used Gaia to come up with some characters for some of the new icons rather than actually trying to draw, color, and etc. stuff... but I stuck with my random decision to only use icons I ( Read more... )

Yay, you updated! :D

The world desperately needs more patient people. I try to be as patient as I can at work, which is often quite hard, considering all the stupid and downright mean customers I deal with. Props to you for being able to keep a cool head!

I'm not very social at all, myself. I have a lot of friends around here, but I usually prefer to be left alone, so I can read or play video games and such. I enjoy hanging out with my friends, but I hate going to bars and stuff like that. Most of the time if anyone is going someplace they end up dragging me along, and even if at first I'm kicking and screaming, I usually end up having a good time.

Oh, you raise bunnies? How neat! I've thought about raising dwarf hamsters, but not until I have the room and the funds for it. I'd like to get a rabbit in the future, actually, once I have more space. Hamsters don't have a very long lifespan... I'd like to get a pet that will last longer. And I've always thought bunnies were absolutely adorable, so that helps as well. ^^ It sounds like you've got quite the family there! I'd love to see pictures, if you have any.

Truth be told, I don't consider myself to be an especially patient person, just a person with a high "this comes with the job" tolerance. It also helps that I do not deal with customers in person anymore. It's much easier now to let things slide off my feathers than it was when I did in-person customer service. (Having a supportive, awesome team of fellow reps with me as opposed to the madness that came before, is also a major prop.)

My social issue is that I have no social circle outside of work. Well, not entirely; I do have a bit of one with fellow Belgian Hare breeders. But that is rather a one-trick pony. I do not feel close enough to any of them to consider what else that bunch and I have in common; there are some of them that I would like to know better, but have gotten the firm impression that it doesn't go both ways. Alas, there is no one to drag me anywhere. My coworkers have not yet determined that I am not opposed to being dragged.

The rabbit breed I deal with has an average lifespan of 4-5 years, not especially long. Belgians are also a pain to breed and need a lot of room, but they're just so darned cute! They are the greyhounds of rabbits, big and sleek and fast. Britannia Petites have the same sort of body type but are only about a quarter of the size. Do not have a feel for their average lifespan, though the eldest one I have is over five years and going strong right now.

Oh, I can relate to that. I guess I'm patient, but a lot of times it feels like an act, since I just really want to tell a lot of my customers that they're idiots. XD; I agree that having great people to work with helps a lot.

Making friends can be so hard. I'm so horribly awkward in social situations. Many times I've met people through work that I'd like to get to know better, but I never know how to express that. I just figure they have their own friends and they don't want me tagging along, so I just never say anything. I understand how you feel. *hugs*

Oh, they sound lovely! I bet all your rabbits are darling. :D
