I never do this stuff on my own; usually I just do it when everyone else has and I feel like maybe I should too... Anyway, here are a couple of New Years memes, if anyone's the least bit interested:
1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before?
became a proper Theatre major? went hiking in the Alps, saw a show on Broadway, drank illegally, joined a sorority.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't do new years' resolutions. I mean, if I'm going to resolve to do something, I don't need to wait around for new years.
3. Did someone close to you give birth?
I don't think so.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
yes.
5. What countries did you visit?
US and Austria. With layovers in Iceland and Denmark. And I came pretty close to Italy, but not quite.
6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
a part in a play, or a lead in Singers' Theatre.
7. What dates from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
none of them, really. I liked the year well enough, but I don't tend to remember specific dates.
8. What were your biggest achievement(s) of the year?
having an actual role in Honk, singing my jury without panicking, passing SocAnth and Astronomy, scoring actual points in an actual basketball game (yay Woodchucks!)
9. What was your biggest failure?
communicating with my friends and family? I seem to have utterly lost my ability to write letters.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I killed my feet...
11. What was the best thing you bought?
my tickets to Austria
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Krystine and Karanina declared majors, and my dad is finally taking care of himself. he's gotten nicer in the process as well.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
George W. Bush. pretty much our entire government.
14. Where did most of your money go?
tickets to Austria and Alpha Chi dues
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
living in Taylor House, going to Austria, having spring break with Karanina, our amazing Rift Cake, fall semester being OVER, working with Maerchenwald at Waldsee, Doctor Who
17. Compared to this time last year, are you...
I. Happier or sadder?: about the same
II. Thinner or fatter?: exactly the same
III. Richer or poorer?: poorer, thanks entirely to Austria and Alpha Chi
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
cooking, oddly enough. and hanging out with my amazing new friends. and my SocAnth essays.

procrastinating with my dear friend youtube.
20. How did you spend Christmas?
at home with my parents. and the cat.

I don't really have one. May was pretty good, as was March, and July, and December... I can't really choose a favorite.
22. Did you fall in love in 2007?
not that I remember. although David Tennant, John Barrowman, Noel Fielding and Simon Amstell were added to my list of celebrity crushes,
23. How many one-night stands?
I can't remember.

I don't really hate anyone other than Bush, and I already hated him, so no.

Possibly the latest Thursday Next, or perhaps The Uncommon Reader, or maybe The Kid. I enjoyed them all very much.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Spring Awakening

29. What did you want and not get?
Karanina's mental stability ; )
30. Favorite film of this year?
leaning towards Juno, but that could just be because it's the most recent. It's not like I can remember off the top of my head all the films I've seen this year.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
19th birthday. I ate and shared cake, and performed Non ti fidar at the PC recital. Nailed it, too.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
more theatre. seeing Spring Awakening live. seeing my friends and family more often. more fabulous baking experiments with Karanina.

whatever I happen to like? I'm not that big on fashion, other than vague attempts to not be too horribly out of it.
34. What kept you sane?
music and my dear and darling roommates, Rachel and Kathleen.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
John Barrowman or Simon Amstell. At least I go for the impossible-to-get types, so I have absolutely no hope and don't waste my time contemplating how to get them. (For anyone who's unaware, they're both gay. And John's married.)
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Not sure if it's political, but all the racism/homophobia shit going on at Denison this past semester. It was so amazing to be in the thick of it all, feeling as if I could actually make a difference as an individual. But if that doesn't count, it's probably a toss-up between the Iraq War and the gay marriage debate.
37. Who do you miss?
My parents and friends from home (most notably Karanina and Krystine), and Denki. My Grandma Floi.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
As far as people I'd never met before: Erica Hughes. Fabulous girl. Love her to death.

Robyn Ochs was pretty cool too.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007:
youtube is bad for your homework?
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
How do you sum up a whole year in one song lyric? Ooh, I know, I'll be tacky and quote Rent: "How do you measure a year?"
There you go. Although my favorite lyric of the year is probably "There's a moment you know... you're fucked," from Spring Awakening

26) Made new friends?
Many. And I adore them all.
27) New Best friends?
Kathleen, Allison, John G, Cara, Erica, Kyle. I think they're the best new ones. but Karanina and Krystine remain my best best friends.
28) Favorite Night out?
didn't have too many... the first time Kathleen got drunk, "Hanging with the Highmores," the My Tie, Coconuts 2007...
29) Any regrets?
a few. mostly academic (like not giving myself enough time to write essays), a few personal (like squandering my time in Austria)
30) Met a special someone?
lots of special people, many of whom I named above. but no one "special." a couple of older friends who I wouldn't mind if they became "special" though...
