the rest of my trip....

Mmmmkay, I'm home again and I'm gonna finish talking about my trip, then I'll be done and you won't have to hear it anymore. 'Cept I may post a few pictures when I get them back. And I may buy a digital camera from my dad so I don't have to use film anymore. But I had to use film on this trip, so....

Lesse, so after I last updated, we saw the Three Gorges Dam, then had to get off the cruise ship. Took a 5-hour bus ride to Wuhan....that was good, though, because we got to see a lot of the countryside. We hadn't seen much before. It's basically all little farms, and on a lot of them, there were people doing field work by hand. Lots of water buffalo wandering around. And the houses didn't look really good either--I can see why people want to move into the cities.

Arrived in Wuhan and ate at McDonald's because I was bound and determined to eat at a McDonald's in China. The cheeseburger made me sick and I couldn't go on the tour the next day. But my cousin said it wasn't that good anyways. Had to get up that night to fly to Guilin. Meh.

Guilin was an incredibly pretty place though. They say the scenery there is the best next to heaven, which is pretty accurate (though I don't believe in heaven and neither do they). They've got lots of hills there, 'specially along the Li River, which are really beautiful. Actually, the city's pretty too--full of trees. And no pollution, so you can actually see the sky, which was nice. We went on this cruise down the Li River, stopped at a market, then drove back. Lesse, and at some point we went out at night to see the comorants fishing. They're these birds which are trained to dive and catch fish for their owners. Also, we had this show after dinner and I got dragged into some folk dancing and prolly looked like an idiot, though everybody else prolly did too. I got this "love ball" necklace thing out of that....hmm, perhaps I should give it to my boyfriend now I've got one....or my brother 'cause he actually thinks it's pretty (it's pink and orange...ugh).

Then we went to Hong Kong. It's "international" (riiiiiiight), so we had to go through customs and all, and our guide couldn't come with us, and I hate goodbyes. *glares* Especially when they're prolly permanent, ya know?

Hong Kong was.....really hot and humid. Also, not nearly as pretty as Guilin, with no trees in the city at all. Lots of skyscrapers and things instead. We saw some of the city, went to the market, all that.

Flew home after a couple nights there....15 hour flight, plus we had to wait an hour on the plane before it would take off. Read a lot, tried to sleep, got maybe 2 hours total. Said good-bye to my cousin (glad to be rid of her....we got along okay for the most part, but....yeah) and my grandparents in Chicago. Then flew home. I was awake for about 29 hours total....and it didn't feel like it. Actually had trouble getting to sleep after that.

Today, mostly trying to catch up on stuff. Oh, and I slept in really late, too....not telling you how late. ^^

Meh. That all went by too fast.
