Apparently this fantastic song, presented here in a new version of course, is an unofficial anthem for Tyneside. So how come that I managed to never come across it until today despite spending an entire term in Newcastle in 1996? Of course, I never went to a football match at St James' Park, which I can't quite forgive myself for until this day. I suppose if I had watched a match, I would have heard the song.
