Ten Favourites
The latest round of the SSHG exchange is over, and I've decided to post a list of my ten favourite stories. They are posted in the order they were published. I like them for all kinds of reasons, which are rather subjective than objective. I'm very curious to find out who wrote the stories I picked.
Numb Summary: Nagini's bite carried some severe consequences, and Severus has a long, rocky road to recovery ahead of him. The Order steps in to help, feeling that they owe him that much, but the only one whose care Severus can stand is Hermione. Romance and hurt/comfort, with crankypatient!Snape a plus.
The Nine Year (Seven Month, Twelve Day, Fourteen Hour, Thirty-seven Minute) Plan Summary: Snape didn’t die and is headmaster at Hogwarts. Hermione has split from Ron (who can keep any kids if there are any) and she is teaching at Hogwarts. Snape has no qualms about exploiting his position as the boss to get what he wants - Hermione.
Little Girl, Granger, Hermione Summary: When did you change, Granger? When did you grow up? While I was trying to keep myself alive and wallowing in my memories, you fought a war and saw the future.
Counting Buttons Summary: Hermione gets caught counting buttons.
Good as Gold Summary: Hermione’s recently retired parents plunge headlong into village life and decide to drag her along for the ride. There are a number of unexpected consequences.
In Solemn Stillness Lay Summary: On vacation, seven years after the war, a depressed and discontented Hermione discovers the successful, but strangely crippled Muggle business entrepreneur, Evan Prince, is none other than the presumed-dead war hero, Severus Snape. Can each possibly help heal the other?
Probably Summary: Two human souls, alike in grieving pain,
In fair Great Britain, where we lay our scene,
Find age-old grudge begin at last to wane,
And friendship (maybe love?) blossoms unseen.
Amnesty Summary: Ever wondered what really happened during Hermione's sixth year at Hogwarts? SS/HG. Canon-compliant through all seven books, minus that pesky epilogue.
