It is killing me that I go to the soap boards and the EJ fans are like...ruining every post because "Oh my god! Sami deserves this treatment because of what she's done since teenagedom." His criminal behavior is continuously excused by calling her a slut, horrible mom, etc. And the thing is, Sami loves her kids. She does a lot for them. Never mind that he's a lawyer so it should be obvious that criminal behavior is just that.
On the SoapCentral board, I've never seen more illogical fans in my life. They make Soaps.Sheknows look well-reasoned. That's rather sad in itself.
Agreed. And she's been trying not to be as insane as him for a long time, if you ignore her shooting him in the head. The fact that she sat Rafe down and told him everything about her past at one point (which apparently took hours) should be a big tip she's changed since her teenager years.
I've never been to their board. The only Days related group I go to is the one here on LJ which is rather quiet, and I've seen that attitude on a rare occasion. The only drama I've seen was the fact a few went berserk that there might be a gay character.
Exactly. She's been growing, trying her best. Save the gun shooting, but hey, you tell me my kid's dead and leave her alone in order to be a bastard....yeah. But considering how often she's been stalked by the man. He's a classic abuser. Hell, look how he nearly strangles Nicole all the time.
Her telling Rafe was a big change. She's trying, so hard to be a better adult. She's not perfect, but she's this teeming harlot that bedhops. I mean in the past decade she's had what: Lucas, Rafe and EJ. Not exactly a working woman there.
Trust me, you don't wanna go. The sheer number of comments makes me cringe.
From SoapCentral I agree.
Sami wanting to make Rafe the father of her kids is why this revenge nonsense started and is greatly responsible for people getting fed up and turning the show off IMO. There is nothing as disgusting as one parent trying to keep a child from the other parent as far as I am concerned. All because Sami said "our kids" to Rafe, in reference to the fact he's a parental figure of some sort with the young ones

Good tip, especially reading those comments. It's probably for the best that I just stick with Soap Opera Weekly and Soap Opera Digest, and the occasional completely insane letter that seeps in about EJ--even if the latter magazine goes away in 2012. (Um, no, strange person that wrote in. Taylor and EJ aren't the next supercouple, and he isn't Prince Charming.)
I mean in the past decade she's had what: Lucas, Rafe and EJ.
That's true. I think Brandon was in there, too, if only for a few minutes--I might be wrong about it being in this decade. She married him, he annulled it and left town. I'm not sure when exactly that was, except there was a switch of results and blackmail involved with Lexie. So before she started growing up.
The sad part was those were the kind comments. Much, much kinder. I haven't read the weekly mags in awhile. EJ and Taylor have as much chemistry as a nose plug and a giant glass of paint. There's nothing in common with them and she's about the blankest character since Bella Swan. You'd think entire town telling her to be careful would be a clue, but no. Nevermind she slept with her sister's husband and never wondered why it was a problem.
On the boards, someone compared EJ to a teen Sami and I think it applies.

True, but his leaving means that he doesn't get to be remembered much...except sleeping with Lexie. And the fact Kate drugged Sami and Brandon so that Lucas wouldn't marry her. Soap Central says it was in 2003, so that maybe right. But they ended up being more friends than lovers in the end. I also thought they were probably best match of all her interests in the past 15 years. With Lucas as a very close second.
