Pimp My...Ride. Er. Team. Er...Oh, just pimp me out, please!

I have two land comm pimps to put out and I'm combining them, so flist please don't kill me since I try to not spam. And they're cut for each comm.

First up is fantasyverse. I'm in Team Wizards, which desperately needs new members so we can participate on occasion and actually win. It's for any television fantasy series (including Buffy, Beauty and the Beast, Legend of the Seeker and Twilight Zone). It's pretty low key. It's not overly busy like whedonland and it can have off-the-wall competitions (there was a recent fandom fic challenge based off the MASH game). Icon, wallpaper, header challenges all exist as well. The new mod Aimee (digitaldesigner) is doing a good job of trying to pick up the pace since it started out fairly slow.

If you wanna play, sign up. There are officially four teams: Creatures of Light (fairies), Creature of Night (bloodsuckers), Warriors (heroes), and Wizards (of Waverly Place - okay, so it's not just them, but I like the Russos!). Sign up post here. It's pretty low-key in participating, too. It's not demanding that you do something every single day...or week. I went a month and basically didn't do anything but vote, wasn't kicked out. Sometimes I just have time to vote for things and that's it. It's nice and some of the creativity is quite good. The recent fic challenge had an interesting Highlander/Blood Ties mash that was quite good. (Oh, and you get points for using your banners.)

(If you want, you can put my name down for points; honestly, it's not that important so much as people joining and making it more active and varied. Building the comm up.)

Secondly is scifiland, which is more active than fantasyverse. It's more time intensive you could say, but again, you don't have to do every single challenge. You can skip them if you want and just do what you have time for. And some things I suck at and avoid, like say, the word puzzles. My brain is not that linear. This phase we have a Big Bang, and it should be fun because you can mix mediums all you want for points per medium (for instance, 150 words = 2 points) and it stops at 100 points at the end of October. It's all or nothing, though. I plan on making a variety, including another video. You get wide variety of challenges so that at least everyone has a chance to win. The typical wallpaper, icon, fic, and graphics and the unusual like Something Borrowed, Something Blue that allowed me to show my Jackie Tyler love and a mini picspam of 10 Favorites of your choice. I didn't post in my journal, but it was my top ten female aliens in Stargate (SG-1 and Atlantis). Oh! And Bingo. I love Bingo. It's usually about 4 hours (with names pulled out by the randomizer intermittedly) but it's full of fun and laughter. The .gifs witnessed are hilarious, too. But no points for using your banners, but you can use them anyway.

In scifiland, I'm on Team Anti-hero, which won on the first phase. In total, there are four teams: Heroes (Big Damn), Anti-Heroes (Vala!), Villains (Master Who), and Sidekicks (Claudia and Fargo). Tash (nowgold) mods the main community and tries to keep the numbers even on all teams. At the moment Villains need a few members, but it's fluid. Sign up with your preference because you might get first choice. May be not, but it's all just team names and you don't have to just make things based on the category. As a community (sub, like teams, too) everyone is involved. It's fun. You meet people that you know love the sci fi genre like you do and it's not limited to one particular fandom. I like it because I've gotten quite a few flisters from the comms that I wouldn't have met otherwise. From a connective standpoint, it's nice to be able to get to know the members and just have a good time, broaden your circle of flisters.

(You can put me down, but it's not necessary. Just let me know you joined and what team you landed on.)

challenge: scifiland, challenge: fantasyverse
