Oops, I forgot this thing again.

Okay, so I've been slack (thanks to SGA fandom) in updating. My bad.

I quit my job on the 1st. Why? They wanted slave labor in order to not overpay the techs. Yeaaaah, no. They also wanted me to do everything in a timely manner without training. Remember that week I was sick? Yeah, that was my training week, and I wasn't trained. I was given lots of barking orders and a total lack of respect. No, seriously. I was worthless since I wasn't a tech. I was told to take care of the hospital patients...even though I'm not trained to do it. But I had to take them out to pee, clean out the cages. Uh, people? That's why you have techs. I was yelled at for sitting while mopping (in order to keep my prints out of the mop water). It was full of shit. I had to vaccum and mop the entire hospital, while the receptionists got done and were able to go. It was all kinds of bad shit.

Oh, and skoosiepants, you'll be glad to know charging rabbits can be deflected with a towel...in a small travel cage like this. Yeah, that'd be two big white rabbits that charged. Sure. That'll work. And there was another bunny from someone else there that charged me. The only one that didn't was the one everyone said to be afraid of. Go figure. There was an unvaccinated ferret around (he hadn't gotten his shots for the year yet), but since he was a tech's I guess it was okay. And there was a bird that was in the same family as the ferret. Oh, those two and the owners cat got BOTTLED water. Yeah, because I have time for that. All but the cats were in a storage sized room. Right.

And I didn't know to clean the cages the dogs were in right? I mean on a split shift day (on a Sunday) and I was yelled at for that. It's ridiculous if they don't tell me. And the tech there was like "I don't want to be here all Sunday!" So when I called and quit (and my boss told me about the no-no with the mop), I was thrilled I left her a shitload to do. Hey, she pissed me off. Apparently I was already being judged by the staff if I would work out by week two. WTF?

Oh! And they said tapeworms in kennel dogs? Not a problem. Don't worry about it. Can't infect anyone else. Bullshit. And these people take care of wildlife and exotics? Eesh. I'd never take my pets there. Ever. It's insane. Glad to be gone from there. Can't wait to get my check and forget I ever worked there.

On to other things. Started to take Metaformin again, since I don't have a job, to work out my levels better and stop my dependence solely on insulin. Anyway, had a sugar crash last night...as, I couldn't even call out for help, and ended up on the hallway floor because I couldn't make it back to the kitchen. I ended up leaning against a kitchen counter on the floor until I crawled back to the couch. I won't take it tonight since I'm going to my aunt's tomorrow night. Mom and stepdad's anniversary, so she demanded to be with her husband, but I'll be back before the Gates come back. I made her potato soup, without any spices (doc's orders) since my mom never does that.

Before I go, I have to point something out that rosedemon posted about. I'll be sending money when I get paid. Jacksonville Humane Society burns; kills 71 cats and 24 dogs. I have to help. It's too sad not to. Animals go there for second chances and all those animals had to be burned alive. I just...it has to be helped. So, I will. I'm just pointing it out because I know I have people all over the world (literally) on my list. Maybe take the time to love your pets a little more if nothing else.

Okay, now I go to bed after I pack up my stuff to take tomorrow. I have to be there by 3:30. Yech.

real life: job, medical: insulin, critters: animal rights, people: aunt
