Amy's Back. Back Again

Feb 13, 2009 16:14

Today is definitely floating around in my Top 10 Days Ever. I'd say it were hovering but that conjures odd images.

Firstly, there was a grumpy American guy on the bus from the Hutt Rd this afternoon who was abusing the driver for something or rather - not unusual - but when he turned to sit down he just stopped and told me I had "the most amazing smile". I went bright red and attempted a mumbled thanks, completely embarrassed. As you would have been too.

But of course, when someone says something like that you can't stop smiling. And smiling makes Amy happy.

And secondly, I finally have my modem. Which, in itself isn't a big thing, but it leads on to the third thing:

I have my very own internet connection set up and running in my very own apartment.

No more sharing. No more bitching about slow speeds. No more avoiding use during office hours - ladies and gentlemen - I'm excited!

The connection has been up and running for a little over an hour and in that space of time I've managed to download all the episodes of Grey's Anatomy and Gossip Girl (shut up) that I've missed over the course of the move. Those episodes would have taken me at least 12 hours on Dad's connection. And we're on identical plans. With the same provider.

How can anyone say that living in the CBD has any disadvantages?

internet, apartment, flatting
