I feel like I should be sending you one of those cheap, tacky touristy postcards that have some sort of generic photo and the over-used "Wish You Were Here!", or "Greetings from ____________!"
Except in my case it'd be a picture of a grubby brick building covered in giant block letters spelling "Greetings from the horrible hot and stuffy cyber commons with no openable windows on the first floor of the Railway Station West Wing! Wish you'd get me out of here!"
I should be attempting my assignments and tutorial preparation for this afternoon but my stomach hurts and I'm struggling enough keeping my breakfast down without forcing my eyes to read a page of text, and heaven forbid, answer the questions.
Instead I figured I'd type up an entry for y'all, email it to myself (because topping up my SCS account just to update LJ is a crime - sad, but true), and then post it once I get home - or anywhere else that allows me free internet access for that matter...
It's been pretty full on recently, for me anyway. I know I keep saying that, but this time I'm not kidding (hehe, I just typed kissing ).
As of this weekend, I'm moving out. An old family friend is the landlord of a nice wee house in the neighbourhood (I wouldn't be lying if I said it's less than a two minute walk from home -
schmidtey, shh! No telling everyone where it is). We move in on Monday (4th Feb).
It's quick.
It's crazy.
But the best parts are...
- We need to connect the power and gas... I have no idea how to go about it, and the parent's aren't terribly helpful since it's been over twenty years since they've even had to think about this stuff.
- The house is three bedrooms, but because the third bedroom isn't a double room (fine for a single) the third person isn't able to come with - so we've got a room we need to rent out asap. Shouldn't be too hard considering the supposed student accomdation shortages, and the fact that uni starts up in less than a month. /li>
- We have no fridge. No fridge. No freezer. And due to the last tenants slashing the fridge with a knife, the landlord... she's not particularly interested in forking out for another one. So... anyone got a spare fridge hanging around? I know I should look on trademe and second-hand salvage stores (and I will), but I was just wondering if I could save anyone the hassle of having to get rid of one...
OH! And my schedule? That's a bute...!
Next week - moving in, still working part-time and classes continue.
Following week - exams. Exams. Exams Exams Exams. EXAMsEXAMsEXAMs
(and stuff like... oh, exams... and work).
Week after that- Holiday. Away from all. Mwah ahahahahah. *squee*
and for good measure, the week after that - Uni's back and
semester one starts in full-swing.
I'm excited and dreading everything all at the same time.
Oh, and I lost my EFTPOS card (no doubt during my drunken visit to McD's on Saturday night)
