We're currently in the process of getting the house painted by a friend of a friend of my fathers (pause, check, say out loud and breathe) and I wouldn't be lying if I said it has taken months, and he's barely over half way. We have a reasonably large house, but it's seriously getting a bit... *mimes choking someone*
The time issue wouldn't be too bad, but he's been focusing on the bit of the house outside the bathroom window for around a month now. This bathroom is on the second floor, so there's no frosting on the windows. We have blinds - but they don't really do a lot because they don't cover the little windows we have above them (weird, I know). I don't know if you (Yes! You!) realise how horrible it is having to plan your bathroom use for when he's not here, or when he's having his lunch. There's often literally spaces of 4 or so hours that our bathroom is unusable.
Oh, and if by any chance he's not around the window and we run to grab the window of opportunity (excuse the pun, but I don't know how else to put it) he'll come clambering over the scaffolding for some sad excuse or another. And by 'we' I do of course mean Mum and I. Dad and Lil' Bro don't seem to have this problem.
As you've probably read, my PC decided to
bugger itself the other day. We ended up contacting a guy based in Island Bay and he came around Saturday morning. He confirmed that it was the power box, and it was just a matter of replacing the one that's stuffed with one that's... well, not.
But Dell makes their part just that little bit smaller than any of the generic parts, so the power box he'd brought along was too big and wouldn't fit into my CPU. This would have to be the single bad thing I've encountered with Dell computers. Anything to squeeze a little more money out of the consumer I guess.
In happier news, I think the dog's French. He's busy whinging in the doorway, and if that wasn't enough to suggest so, he's rolling his whines like he would otherwise be rolling his 'r's. Although, I don't know how that's 'happier news'.
