Today has been a bit of a wash...

So today I woke up feeling rough. I woke up several times in the night feeling like that too. I'm not sure if it was something I ate last night (a bunch of us went for a hot pot) or what it is but I've not left the hostel today and have felt very sorry for myself. The quick summary of the last few days is that I've loved my time in Chengdu.

I've met lots of awesome people here: Jenny, Natalie and Stacey who I met on my first day here and left the next day or something but I chatted to a fair bit and were cool; Emma and Kath, my roommates til they left today, and David, Jonathan, Norah and Vanessa who I met through Kath and Em who were mostly at a different hostel but I hung out with loads anyway.

My plans weren't quite as intended and described in the last post. I went to see Pandas, a monastery and the sichuan opera and it was the best day ever (more details later). Yesterday instead of Leshan I hung around in Chengdu and went to Wuhou Ci. This is a temple dedicated to various heroes of the Three Kingdoms period of history inluding Zhuge Liang, Liu Bei and Guan Yu... Those names are quite possibly familiar to those who have played the Dynasty Warriors games though that had nothing to do with why I went there... :)

Today I had intended to go to Leshan to see the giant buddha but didn't due to feeling rough. Its pissing it down with rain though so maybe that wasn't as bad as it could have been. I'll plan to do it tomorrow instead. Then I'll probably go to shanghai having for various reasons decided against Jiuzhaigou and the three gorges. Will likely confirm all this later...

I'll hopefully also write more about these things later or tomorrow or something. Right now I'm going to go crash for a bit...
