Admittedly not so sure how I feel about our book being described as "a lesson in the failures of social welfare" considering I am pretty much for having things like socialised education, health, support, etc. and our book definitely wasn't intended as a serious commentary on the failings of child services in the UK or anything :/ In fact I'm pretty sure orphanages died out well-before when our book is actually set, but otherwise I'm glad that people seem to be enjoying it so far :D SO EXCITING.

In other news I've started my Master's at LSE! I'm on the two-week pre-sessional statistics course because I suck at maths but have been gratified to discover there are plenty of wonderful people from my course also on the pre-sessional and they all seem so nice and just genuinely very friendly. It feels very different from my BSc, where everyone pretty much sectioned themselves off into cliques immediately. Obviously groups have started to form, but in general everyone is just friends with everyone and happy to hang out and go for coffee with different people and it's much more diverse than I expected (in terms of both background and future plans).

It's going to be crazy-busy as I'm still working at the security company part-time, but I actually feel like I might be looking forward to the new year.
