Expecting to see Ric, her lover, she prepared to have her usual blunt morning conversation before going back to sleep at the 'home home' However, this wasn't Ric. Or was it? Unfortunately, this Venusian had a failing memory and could only remember bits and pieces of what Ric looked like. He wore a suit like Ric (assuming since 1950s) but it wasn't in the same tailored fashion or color scheme. And his face... Well, it seemed she had forgotten Ric's face and hair and everything except what he wore looked like.
After taking a moment to let it sink in she was 60% positive this wasn't Ric.
Rubbing her eyes, still trying to clear her mind, her response held some indifference.]
Yeah, I guess, do you know where I can find Ric?

The village chief gave me a name, I'm now Nino Fujimiya, what name did he give you?
[Where Nino came from, it was tradition for the village chief, who was a kappa, to see if the newcomer was fit to stay in their village. If this individual was deemed worthy, he would give the person a new name.
Nino assumed it was the same in Mayfield because she didn't have a last name prior to arriving. Somehow, someway; her memories were still fuzzy from when she arrived to waking up under the bed, she was sure someone in power had given her the last name of Fujimiya.]

Fujimiya is my last name. But I wasn't given the name upon arrival.
[He sighed. This was going to be complicated to explain.]

[For a moment, and only a moment, Nino's face remained completely blank and emotionless. Was she going to explode in rage and shock? Was she going to cry? No...]

[It was as if her mood had done a complete 180. The young woman was suddenly quite excited because she had come to the conclusion she must be meeting her extended family. She already had a lover so they couldn't be husband and wife, and the only other people she knew, who shared a last name, were two brothers. So they had to be siblings, even though she wasn't even sure she had siblings. And, although he had stated this was Mayfield and not Venus, maybe it was a place on Venus. That's would explain why she could deal with the gravity without needing to be closer to sea level.]
Have I returned to Venus!?
