a girl i work with had a miscarriage today. she fell down this morning, but went on ahead and went to work because she felt fine. she went to the doctor for a routine checkup this afternoon, and there was no heartbeat. and since she was so far along in her second trimester, they're going to have to induce labor so she can give birth to her dead child.

the morbidity of this entire thing won't leave my mind.
