2024 Thus Far

When we last left off, I had been to Arkansas and I had two unexpected developments…

In January, I saw a pediatric ophthalmologist to address several issues I’ve had with my vision since I was a toddler and since I’m basically like that of a small child in a physical aspect on many things, a pediatric ophthalmologist was more appropriate. He looked at my eyes intently and was shocked that no one had ever attempted to find out why I have depth perception issues. My depth perception issues are caused by severely weak muscles in my eyes and that it can be fixed; he was also shocked that no one ever tried fixing my strabismus problem after eye patching didn’t work when I was 3 years old. I’m getting eye surgery to fix these issues next week and my sister & brother in law in Arkansas are coming up to help me with the recovery process as they were able to get time off of work.

I got an even bigger unexpected development in February when my pastor flipped out on me because I didn’t immediately get an application for the grocery store her husband works at; I saw that those who work at the store are required to help with stocking the store and I’m not tall enough nor strong enough to do that so that is why I didn’t get an application because I’d get fired for not being to do it. The other thing I have to deal with is that companies get very angry if you take days off for any reason and my medical issues the past couple of years was one of the reasons I was forced to resign from my previous job last August. She basically said that I ruined her husband’s reputation at his job along with multiple other people’s reputations throughout town that have been helping me; she tried really hard to get me removed from church and making me pay back all those who have helped me via very large amounts of money(followed by forcing me into donating said amount of money every week at church and every week to the community rides program), however, the entire women’s council at church stood up to her and said that if I’m run out of church and forced into paying all that money, they will all resign from the council in protest. I almost cried when I saw that as people in my church tend to walk eggshells around my pastor because of how often she flips out on people and wasn’t expecting anyone to stand up for me. I’m really praying that we get a new pastor as quite a few people have left the church because of how volatile she has become towards people.

The biggest unexpected development is that Jake’s staff has actually been helping me with dealing with my former boss and former crazy coworker who continue to cause problems for me and Jake; one of the head staff people is aware of some of the more brutal things I’ve had to endure and she talked with people at the disability rights center about what they could do to help me; unfortunately, because everything was said verbally to me and Jake, it’s considered hearsay and therefore technically legal(albeit grey zone legal). I’ve written everything down in a binder and small notebook and it’s now 31 months as of April 7th since everything started; I’m going to keep writing everything down because it’s the only way something might quasi-semi-seriously someone needs to be punished for shit that has happened to you kind of deal happens.
