Why do so many Christians not know the history of their own faith? I inadvertently got sucked in by His House (aka the Hot Dog church) and got into a discussion with a girl who was very conflicted about her faith. I mentioned the Arians, the Niceans, the Nostrians, and the Gnostics, and she had NO IDEA what I was talking about. Aye Dios Mio! If you are going to believe something, at least know the reason and the history of why you believe it. I HATE when they say "because the Bible says it". That is the CHEAPEST answer ever. I KNOW why I am an atheist, I don't need a science book to tell me why. I know the history of atheism, I know why it is so widely accepted today and I know why it works. If you believe it, know WHY you believe it, because if you don't it is an empty faith.
