One member of congress when questioned about this very same thing brought up the point that they spent 5 hours of one day on this issue, and spent the rest of their time on other things.

I think to have congress ignore everything that is not the most important issue they have on their plate would simply be foolish on their half, and so they do tackle stuff like this which is related to rampant illegal drug use among high profile Americans. The only reason it seems like it is the only thing they are doing is because the media is giving it a lot more coverage than everything else they do because it involves America's pass time. The case has
also gotten bigger at this point in time since it is pretty clear that one of two men has defiantly committed purgery, which is an incredibly major crime, which they not only can, but absolutely should be prosecuted for. If courts don't go after people who do commit purgery, then people no longer have a reason to ever tell the truth in a court room.

Now personally, I don't give a shit about baseball or steroid use, and I have followed as little of this story as possible, so I'm with you on the I don't give a fuck stand point, but at the same time I do understand why so many people do give a fuck and why it has become such a big deal.
