For Dinner

This evening I made a smashing dinner for myself.

Main dish:
A strip steak marinaded in Merlot with a dash of Pino Gregio, some garlic, and a bit of spice. I pan seared with a bit of butter and wrapped the steak in apple bacon. Took it out of the bacon medium-rare. Seared some mushrooms with the bacon and put on top of the steak.

Side:
Sliced red potatoes with chopped onions in water bath with beef bullion. 'Boiled' or 12 minutes, drained and then fried with a small amount of butter and two teaspoons of minced garlic. Removed on to plate covered with towels to remove extra lipids.

Wine:
2004 Merlot, chilled for 15 minutes.

It was excellent.
