On them twitters and such, I continually enter competitions to win food. Thus far, I have managed to win pies (from Pieminister, no less) for my office but little else.

ChrisC, it turns out, does much the same thing with competitions to win gig tickets. And last week, one of them finally came up trumps.

I do like Veronica Falls, but agree they can be a bit of a letdown live.

Each time I've seen them has been less than ideal though (once at the Scala, which is a rubbish venue, and once outdoors at a festival) so would like to see them somewhere nice for a change to see if that makes a difference.

I've seen them once (but it looks like I only vestigially wrote it up and thus don't know much about it). It was at that venue that I can never remember the name of that's a number, and I'm fairly sure they were great. That is a decent venue, though.

If anyone is interested, ChrisC tells me that (a) the venue whose name I can't remember is 229, and (b) we didn't see Veronica Falls there anyway, we saw them at ULU.

in fact, I think that might have been the occasion of me relentlessly doing my best KLF impression because I was drinking UBU in a pub round the corner from ULU. Oooo-booo!
