The Thanksgiving holiday brought no respite for Alaska's wolves as the first 4 animals of the season were killed by aerial hunters. Last season, aerial gunners killed 147 wolves. Now, the Alaska Board of Game has targeted nearly 900 wolves. Coupled with legal hunting and trapping, about one-third of Alaska's wolf population could be killed this season. Defenders continues to be at the forefront of efforts to protect wolves throughout Alaska. Visit www.savealaskawolves.org to sign our petition that calls for an end to the slaughter, and help us reach our goal of 200,000 names.
